The expanded form of LED is Light Emitting Diode. LEDs are very small in size. LED is a p-n junction diode that emits light when forward biased. . A P-N junction diode is a one-way device offering low resistance when forward-biased and behaving almost as an insulator when reverse-biased. The production of this light is a form of electroluminescence. By the use of variety inorganic semi-conductor materials we can produce different colors of LEDs.

By the use of LED light bulbs we get so many benefits because of several advantages of LEDs. In the future the relamping cost can be reduced by the use of LED light bulbs. The life of the LED light bulbs is an average of 100,000 hours that is approximately 10 years. The power consumption of the LED light bulbs is also less.
